You’ve nailed everything else from top to bottom, but you can’t find the right pair of kicks to complete the look. Shoes can make or break an outfit. It can be very frustrating and time consuming trying to find the right sneakers. However, I’m bringing you this list of five sneakers every guy needs to own so you can turn those stylish outfits into complete looks.
Sneaker Number One
This sneaker comes in number one on the list as it is the absolute must have. If you only take one thing away from this list, make it this point: you NEED a pair of white sneakers. They go with absolutely everything and make every look extra clean. White sneakers can be worn with jeans, any color chinos, sweats, and even suits. They seriously are the best sneaker, hands down. There isn’t even necessarily an order or ranking for the rest of the list, but a pair of white sneakers is in a category all its own above the rest of the field. The pair you see pictured is a Steve Madden leather double whites with a gray tongue. I picked them up from Nordstrom Rack for $50 (same price in the link) and frickin love them.
Sneaker Number Two
The second sneaker is the Adidas NMDs or Ultraboosts. Adidas has been coming out with the coolest footwear as of late. They’re definitely tops in the game right now, especially with a designer like Kanye West (Yeezys would make the list if they weren’t so expensive). Personally, I love the looks of NMDs. They can be worn to the gym or as a fashion staple with the rest of your outfit. They are obviously more casual, but definitely one of my favorites. Along with that, they typically have a cheaper price tag than Ultraboosts. The maroon pair I’m rocking came from Finishline on sale for $100, so I had to get them.
Sneaker Number Three
New Balance has some super cool looks and designs in their sneakers as of late. I personally own two different pairs, both mainly grey. They look super good with jeans and chinos, perfect for a casual style. On top of that, New Balance has a huge selection with a ton of different models and color ways, many of which that won’t break the bank. I would say these are a good option to save some money while still being very versatile.
Sneaker Number Four
For this pair, I’m going with another color out. White goes with everything and looks clean, so add another sneaker that really pops. The pictures below are good examples. They become the focal point of the outfit and look really good when paired with other minimal colors. Shoes like these are super popular now and you can get them at most stores that are categorized as “on trend”. This particular color is listed as “pink” on ASOS. I see this color all over the place nowadays, so it is very much a trend.
Sneaker Number Five
This is your pair of gym shoes. Every guy needs a sneaker that is designated just for the gym, so here is what I picked. I’ve always been a big fan of basketball shoes, so I’m going with a pair of Kobes and a pair of KDs. Kobes are the way to go if you want a low top shoe (although he also makes high tops now). They’re great for hitting the weight room or the court. Kobes are ultra-lightweight and one of the most comfortable pairs of shoes I have ever owned. Personally, I like the minimal colors that can go with most clothes. So for the kobes, I got a greyed out version. As far as the KDs, I picked a creme white color. I really like the way the KDs look on my feet, especially with a white calf sock. I have gotten tons of compliments on these and really love the way they feel. This is all preference of what you like to wear to the gym, but I felt it important to add a quality workout option to the list.
Adding any of these shoes will make your life much easier when it comes to completing outfits. The right pair of shoes will take your style to another level, and all of these options should be considered “the right pair.” So go ahead and treat yourself a little, you’ll thank me later.
